Working with Adults

Although my primary focus is child-centred music therapy, I also work with adults in a different way. I recognise that adults, whether professionals or parents, often need their own safe space to reflect, process, and restore.

Our Work May Include

Peer Supervision

I offer peer supervision for those working in the caring professions, creative therapies, or education. These sessions provide a supportive space to think through challenges, explore areas where you feel stuck, and reflect on your practice in a collaborative, non-judgmental way.

Staff Training

I provide staff training for schools, care settings, and organisations who want to learn more about how music and creativity can support emotional well-being. Training is practical, interactive, and tailored to the needs of your team, helping staff feel more confident in using music to connect and support those they work with.

Sound Therapy

I also offer sound therapy for adults seeking rest and restoration. Using instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, and chimes, these sessions create a deeply immersive soundscape that encourages relaxation and calm. Unlike music therapy, sound therapy is not about interaction or goals, it is about experiencing a sense of stillness and being held by sound. Many people find this a powerful way to release tension, reduce stress, and reconnect with themselves.

"Sula ran a series of supervision sessions for our school staff in response to a student bereavement. This gave space for the staff to reflect on how they were processing their emotions as well as time to reflect on all the happy memories too. There was time to quietly reflect while exploring instruments and creating music together in any way that staff wanted to. The session then ended with a sound bath which was deeply relaxing and left everyone with a sense of peace. Carving out time for this outside of a busy workplace and everyone's busy lives is crucial in supporting each other through the tough times and all staff reflected on what a positive experience it had been. This is something we are keen to offer staff on a regular basis in the future. Thank you Sula."
